Tropical Storm Hanna and New Kit Mediterranean

What a busy week this has been and now we are sitting here waiting on Hanna to head on up our way once it makes landfall in SC/NC. Thank goo ness it is downgraded to a tropical storm but still has the potential of strenghtening but we hope not. Should be going through my area around noon - 2 pm Saturday. Of course we are trying to prepare as well as we can if we loose power for any length of time and have a generator so hope things won't be as bad as when Isabel came through here in 2003 and we were without power for over a week. Already getting heavy rain here this afternoon.

Thank God for Extended Warranties and New Scrap Kit

I never really liked buying extended warranties on things since I had either gotten rid of it and gotten something new, things would break right after the warranty ran out etc etc. We decided to keep my 05 Tahoe since I really didn't like the changes they had made to the new ones so got an extended warranty on it. Good thing!! Something has gone bad in the main computer thing, don't remember what exactly they called it, but I do remember that it is over $3000 bucks to fix it. Good thing is that its covered, bad thing is with something that high they have to have someone come and verify that it really is bad. Thats what the extended warranty people want done and it can take 24 - 48 hrs before they do it. So now my Tahoe is being held hostage over at the dealership and we need it this weekend cause we are going out of town for Labor Day and taking the dogs. Can't take d/h pickup cause even though its an extended cab there is not enough room in there for the dogs and our stuff. He has a loaner Blazer right now, but not knowing how reliable it is we are not too comfortable to take that out of town since its a rental/loaner car. I want my Tahoe back!! LOL!!! Maybe we can get them to let us have something else to drive this weekend if mine isn't done in time. Ok thats my rant for today!!

Busy Weekend and New Kit Blueberries N Guacomole

Thats a combination...blueberries and guacomole!! But thats what the colors reminded me of!! And I wouldn't eat guacomole for money!! LOL!!

Anyway, didn't have alot of pc time this weekend since we were going to several antique auctions and did manage to find a couple of nice things! One of them we went to was outside and oh boy was it hot even though they had a huge canopy and fans but that was the one I got a couple of good buys at. I think it was a test to see who could stand the heat long enough to actually buy anything!!

New Scrap kit Mulberry N Sage

This kit came together really fast too! Had most of it done last night but finished it up today. I have been getting some emails where people are having trouble opening the PSD file. I really don't know what to do b/c I have downloaded this new kit and the Richly Jeweled one to check it to be sure there was nothing wrong and I can open the layered psd file even in psp 9 and also in psp12. I am sorry for those having any problems but I really don't know what to do differently since it works for me. Maybe someone has an answer to this?

Thunderstorms and New Kit Twilight Passions

New Scrap Kit Watermelon Shades

I can't beleive how busy things have been lately. I started this kit a couple of days ago and just now got it finished and uploaded. We are planning a little trip for the weekend. Normally we like to leave when d/h gets off work Friday afternoon but going to leave early Saturday to save the cost of an extra night at a hotel. That would be enough to fill up the gas tank so even though I don't like doing it like this with the cost of gas we have to try to cut corners someplace if we still want to do our little weekend trips.

My DIL had to go to Australia for part of her school degree and attend a poultry conference over there. So my son decided it was a great opportunity for him to get to go also since he would only have to pay for his plane ticket, the school was taking care of her expenses. Happy Belated 4th and Our little trip to PA

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July, had lots of BBQ's and saw lots of fireworks!! We spent our day traveling once d/h got off work up to one of our favorite spots around Harrisburg, PA. Major places to go antiquing there...Got up early today and spent the day out and on the road. Headed up to Schrupps Grove early this morning...didn't find alot but it looked like rain and alot of vendors had not opened up yet but found a couple of things....then on to Adamstown, PA....great places to search there...found some really good things at a couple of places there. I was pleased with our finds. Then headed to Lancaster Co - Paradise, PA to a nice Mall there to check out things...on the way ran over to Reading to the outlets and picked up a few things there, then after the Mall in Paradise, checked out another Outlet Mall and found a couple things I was looking for...by now it was dinner time...so stopped at a little diner and the food was to die for!! Anyway...was a great day...ducked the rain all day and got lucky missing most of it. We have to start heading back home tomorrow...but we are planning to go to Hershey and check out the antique malls there in the morning, then start heading back to VA with stops along the way at other little towns searching for something different and unique!! Happy with our weekend...just didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted!! See you back home tomorrow night!!

New Scrap Kit - Gingham Days and Past July 4th Memories

Thinking of the 4th of July and how when I was little we always went on a picnic usually down to Buckroe Beach and Amusement park. That was such a fun place back in the day. The beach is still open there but the amusement park was torn down long ago, I guess it just couldn't keep up when places like Busch Gardens and Water Country opened up. They had a pavilion with picnic tables and you took your picnic basket and picked out a table and left your basket there reserving your table and went on your way to do other things until time to eat. Can you image just leaving your basket of food there in todays world...I would be afraid someone would drug it take it or whatever. Anyway, the only thing that ever happened to us leaving our food there was to come back to eat and find 2 men we didn't know eating our food! It was really funny, cause these guys had a basket that looked exactly like ours, their wives packed it so they had no idea it wasn't their basket. All turned out well cause they went and bought us hamburgers and stuff to replace our food, just something I have always remembered. So thinking about the 4th and picnics and good times in the past I created this kit complete with ants and a picnic basket. Hope someone can use it! Click the preview to go to my site for d/l. Storms, smoke, bad air alerts and new tags

Another hot day here and we are still getting smoke from the wildfire thats been burning several weeks in the dismal swamp. Suppose to have some thunder storms come through here this afternoon so hope that will cool things off alittle bit. Also have air quality alerts everyday, I am already sick of summer. Anyway was a good day to stay inside in the a/c and fiddle around with psp. Did some tuts hoping to find my mojo and I was pretty happy with how a couple of them came out. I have so many tubes I have not even used yet so I have pretty much cut myself off from buying any for awhile unless there is that one that I just have to have....lol.. I know Garv has a new one I want..LOL

More news from my kids over in Australia...They left Melbourne yesterday and are now in Sydney. Said they were going to spend the day going around the city and taking pics. They don't have a rental car there...they turned theirs in when leaving Melbourne..but said the public transportation is really good. My son said he had to pay for internet there so we didn't get to talk but he sent me an email. Also has a job prospect lined up for when he gets back...hope being gone another week doesn't cause him to lose it.

Talked to my Son in Australia and Vet Bills!

I just talked to my son on this program he got me to put on my pc. Called Ventrillo..pretty kewl how you can actually talk through and mic and hear each other. He said the plane trip was terrible...not that they weren't taken good care of but he rode 15 hours in a middle seat on the plane. He is 6 ft 1 so he was pretty cramped up. They rented a car while they are in Melbourne, said that was kinda interesting driving on the wrong side of the road. Its Tuesday morning for them and they are taking a trip today out to Great Ocean Road. It looks really beautiful there and hope they get some great pics! He said its winter there around 50 degrees and alittle windy.

Another $206 to the vets again! Megan started acting like she had a UTI yesterday afternoon and sure enough, I took her this morning and she did. The meds they gave her to take for 2 weeks was$62...geesh...but I had to get it for her. Now she has another problem where she has broken off one of her teeth and now we are going to have to get that pulled since the vet said some of the nerve was exposed. If we don't then it would eventually effect some big nerve that goes up through their face and that would be even more of a problem. Got an estimate on that...low end is $597...I didn't even ask what the high end would be where they do alot of blood work and ekg and stuff...omg its crazy. But what can you do...I am not the type of person to not take care of my pets. It scares me to have to give her anesthia cause she has had seizures in the past but takes meds every day and hasnt had one in about 5 years now. So there is the risk of her having a seizure from the anesthia...hopefully there will not be a problem. She is such a sweet dog I just love her so much! This is a pic of here when she was about 3 months old. She is 5 years old now.

My Kids Left for Australia

My son and daughter in law left this evening for 2 weeks in Australia. She had to go for part of school where she is getting her PHD. So the school is paying for her to go. My son just had to buy his ticket and come up with some extra spending money. They both figured if he didn't go with her while her way was paid they would probably never get another chance to go. I talked to them when they were leaving the Atlanta Airport for LA. There they have a 3 hr layover then get on the plane for Australia. They will loose Sunday cause when they get there with the time difference it will be 7am Monday morning Aussie time. I told them I wanted lots of pictures of Kangaroos and Koala Bears and stuff!! I just pray they will have a safe trip there and back. We have it set up where we can actually talk over the computer, kind of like skype but another program my son uses when he plays WOW (World of Warcraft, I think it is.)

Tomorrow d/h and I are going to go out for breakfast and then head up to Williamsburg to the outlet mall and the antique mall there. Taking the doggers too since they can ride in their little cart and go in both places. Heres a pic of them in their cart from Vacation back in Feb.

Had alot of heavy thunder storms come through last night. They kept waking me up. We sure did need the rain and it has cooled things down abit. It has been way too hot for this part of June so far and we have a nice breeze today. My poor A/C has been taking a licking lately even though both units are fairly new just can't keep up, especially the upstairs one. I am so wanting a house that is a one story, I am over the 2 story thing. To get what we really want we would most likely have to buy some land and build to suit us. Who knows maybe someday that will happen.

Had my DIL here since Wednesday, my son was not able to come. She was here for her little sisters graduation. Her mom had found them the cutest little kitten that came into the spca where she works. Just what they need another cat, they already have 3 plus 2 dogs but couldn't turn down this little cutie. My pups played alot with her but now she has to go to Alabama to their house and meet the big yellow lab and the bulldog...that should have been interesting last night. We took her to the airport with kitty in her little carrier that she could take on the plane with her. Shes a real cutie!

Rest In Peace Sweet Baby Dog

I knew it was time but I didn't want to let go. My heart is still very heavy this morning and its so quiet not hearing him bark when a strange car comes down the street or there is something out of the ordinary going on. No more pain, no more suffering...I had to do that one last thing for him and let him go. It hurts so bad.

My daughter in law is flying in today for her little sister's high school graduation. My son couldn't come unfortunately, at least we got to see him over the weekend. 6 months is a long time to go without seeing your kids, at least it is for me. Her mom is picking her up and then she will be staying over here with us. Just finished getting her room all straightened up since I generally use that room as my tv, sewing room.

Its been just horribly hot here and even hotter this weekend we spent in Charlotte, NC. Heat index was 108 today and more of it for tomorrow. Seems too early in June to be having these kinds of temps.

Enjoyed out little weekend trip down to Charlotte, NC. My son and his wife met us up there from Alabama and we spent the weekend at a hotel there. Went antiquing but didn't find much of anything. Seems to get harder and harder to find good stuff. D/H treated both me and our daughter in law to new purses when we stopped by an outlet mall. Hers is a Coach and mine is a Dooney. We sure enjoyed seeing the kids but it just went by too fast and wasn't long enough!! Here are a couple of pics from the weekend!

Dog Groomers n pedicures

It was "spa" day for the doggies and me. While they were at the groomers getting pretty, I treated myself to a pedicure...long over due...I really love getting them and I am not going to wait so far in between them anymore!! Anyway...have some new pics of the doggies to show off...will spare you pics of my pretty toes! LOL

My Favorite Tree

I have always loved the weeping willow trees. We had one when I was a kid but they planted too many trees for the size of the front yard and that one was so close to the house and got so big they had to have it removed. So finally I decided I wanted to get one for my yard. We planted this alittle over 10 years ago and it was just a spindly little thing. It has grown into a huge gorgeous tree and thankfully we planted it away from the house so it can get as huge as it wants to!!

Since I had my camera out I had to get a couple pic of my doggies. Megan didn't even wake up from sleeping under my desk. Marley and Morgan...you can't sneak nothing by those two!

Va Tech Hokie Birds

We were in Blacksburg, VA last weekend Home of Va Tech and since my daughter in law graduated from there of course we are fans so had to go to the bookstore and get T shirts etc. She wanted a couple of new ones since she likes to wear her VA Tech shirts at Auburn Univ. (cause once a "hokie", always a "hokie"..lol) where she is getting her PHD. Anyway since the last time I was there seems they have all these 5 ft tall Hokie Birds all around town suppose to be 75 different ones. We were in a hurry so I only got pics of 2 of them...lol OH and btw...they cost 7500 bucks a piece!!
